Dr Amr Abbas

Amr Abbas, MD, is a Professor of Medicine at Oakland University School of Medicine and Director of Structural Heart and Cardiovascular Research at William Beaumont University Hospital. He is a clinical and intervententional cardiac, peripheral vascular, and structural heart specialist. He participated in the first transcatheter valve replacement in North America in March 2005. He has authored multiple papers in the field of interventional cardiology, structural heart disease, and hemodynamics.
He is board certified in Cardiovascular Medicine, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular CTA, and Echocardiography. He obtained his Medical Degree at Ain Shams University School of Medicine, Residency at Maricopa Medical Center, Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital. Following his training, Amr joined the faculty at William Beaumont Hospital. For the past several years, Amr has been involved in multiple clinical trials as an international steering committee member, primary, and sub investigator. He has authored several manuscripts, edited several books and book chapters, and mentored several junior faculty, fellows, residents, and medical students. Through his work, Amr has been involved with numerous research projects, educational programs, clinical operative committees, and quality of care programs at Beaumont.
